1 Thessalonians 2:4-6

^4 (A)but just as we have been approved by God to be ^(B)entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, ^(C)not intending to please people, but to please God, who ^[a](D)examines our hearts. ⁵ For we never came ^[b]with flattering speech, as you know, nor with ^(E)a pretext ^[c]for greed—^(F)God is our witness— ⁶ nor did we ^(G)seek honor from people, either from you or from others, though ^[d]we could have ^[e]asserted our authority as ^(H)apostles of Christ.
